Feeding your puppy, simply.

Puppy resting beside shopping bags

Puppy feeding looks complicated because every bag says something different. Ignore the noise: weigh the food, feed on schedule, and watch the dog — not the marketing.

How much, how often

Under six months: three measured meals a day. Six to twelve months: two meals. Follow your food's weight-based guide for your pup's expected adult size, then adjust so ribs are felt but not seen.

Weigh the food, feed on schedule, and watch the dog — not the marketing.

Switching foods

Change gradually over seven days — quarter new to three-quarters old, then half and half, then mostly new. Tummy upsets during switches are almost always from rushing, not from the food itself.

When to go adult

Small breeds move to adult food around 10–12 months; large breeds at 12–15. Ask us or your vet before switching — and see our Diet & Nutrition service for a plan built around your dog.
